Welcome to Oakville

The Town of Oakville is one of the most coveted residential and business centres in the Province of Ontario based in part based on its ideal location in the western Greater Toronto Area (GTA), along the shores of Lake Ontario. Located within an easy commute to downtown Toronto, and serviced by Pearson International Airport, Oakville is an ideal family community in close proximity to major global economic centres.

With more than 211,000 residents Oakville has had a long and important history since its founding in 1857. This vibrant community has all the features of a well serviced urban centre, but maintains its small town ambiance due in part to its active heritage conservation district, it’s boutique retail district along Lake Shore and the abundance of parks and recreation facilities around Town.

Oakville is an active family community and has the largest Little League Organization in all of Canada, as well as numerous other sports leagues. For the avid golfer Oakville offers numerous public and private course options including the well know Glen Abbey Golf Course, site of several Canadian Open professional golf championships and many other amateur tournaments. With a strong appreciation for the arts and culture, Oakville is hosts numerous festivals and events throughout the year including the Downtown Oakville Jazz Festival held in the summer which includes performances at a number of stages along Lakeshore Road in downtown Oakville as well as various performances of both the Oakville Symphony Orchestra and the Oakville Ballet Company held at The Oakville Centre for the Performing Arts.
