Welcome to Sherwood Park

The Sherwood Park Area boasts a combination of city convenience and peaceful, lush residential streets making it a perfect representation of the City of Toronto itself. The West side of this community surrounds the busy intersection of Yonge and Eglinton, where there are many shops and entertainment possibilities, as well incredible TTC accessibility. However, those in the community have the option to experience a completely different environment on Sherwood Park’s East side which houses one of Toronto’s biggest parks of the same name.

The Sherwood Park is over 40 acres large, filled with forests, an off-leash dog park, wading pools, playgrounds, and much more. The park includes a small section of the Great Lakes-St. Lawrence Forest, including white pine, hemlock, beech, oak, and sugar maple - some of the trees date as far back as the 1850’s! Ongoing volunteer efforts, working together with the City of Toronto Parks and Recreation Department are ensuring that the forest survives, and thrives.

The Sherwood Park area was primarily an agricultural farming community that was incorporated in 1890 as a result of the amalgamation between Davisville Village, Eglinton Village, and Bedford Park Village. They began building houses in the 1890’s when the Metropolitan Street Railway made North Toronto the northernmost stop on its five cent line from downtown Toronto. This neighbourhood embodies one of the biggest reasons people love to live in Toronto – having everything right outside your doorstep, whether that be a bustling city block or a vast, gorgeous park.
